I have no idea what is in Obama's health care bill. I don't think most of the people who will vote on it know either. Bills are purposely written in a complex manner, mostly by lawyers, to confuse, hide agendas and discourage people from reading and understanding them. So I can only make a tentative judgement based on what I have heard and read from Democrats, Republicans, Independents, liberals, conservatives and news organizations. I have grave concerns that this bill has hidden clauses and trojan-horse verbiage in it because I have learned not to trust or believe Democrats over the years.
I do however believe that somewhere in the thousands of pages and paragraphs and sub-sections of the president's healthcare bill, the very old among us will be treated like 3rd class citizens when it comes to healthcare accessibility. I believe that seniors will be sent to the back of the bus and put last in line when it comes to treatment. I believe that the quality of life for seniors will greatly decrease under the Obama plan and “end of life” care will disappear completely.
Because I have not heard any Democrats (since it is their bill) claim that they have read the bill and can truthfully say that seniors will not be scourged I remain skeptical and cautious.
A lot of blacks and seniors voted for Obama, but I would say to them not to give him a free pass just because he made promises, nor should you give any president a free pass. I would humbly suggest that blacks take a real hard look at the Cap and Trade issue and all seniors take a hard look at his proposed Healthcare Plan. An intelligent and informed citizen is very hard to fool.
